Fukuoka Asian Month

The first annual Asia Month occurred in 1990, with the exchange built up at the Asia Pacific Exhibition Yokatopia ’89 (held the previous year) as a basis. It has since become a familiar vehicle for easy-access to Asian people and culture. Starting with the “Asian Pacific Festival Fukuoka” and “Focus on Asia: Fukuoka International Film Festival”, there are a multitude of forums, concerts, and more with the scale of the festival growing larger every year! Visitors can enjoy stalls at the venues that offer authentic ethnic food and performances by various Japanese and Asian artists on the main stage constructed especially for the event!
