Fukuoka City Zoological Garden

Fukuoka City Zoological Garden is located on a hill in the center of Fukuoka City and visitors can observe almost all area within the city. The botanical garden and the zoo are connected with land bridge. It plays a role as a place for interaction between citizens and animals and plants in urban area. The botanical garden features giant flowerbed, grass plaza Azumaya, wall fountain, flowing water and cafe with observatory and it is considered that visitors can learn to grow greenery enjoying themselves there as a recreational place. Roughly 160 kinds of animals and 2,600 kinds of plants are bred there. The must-see at the zoo are raggiana bird of paradise, Malayan Tapir and two lowland gorillas.
