On display at the Ishibashi Museum of Art is “The Ishibashi Collection”, which is said to be one of the best in Japan. The quality and number of works is comparable to western impressionist exhibits on display at its sister-museum, the Bridgestone Museum of Art. The Ishibashi Museum of Art has on display the masterpieces of artists from Kyushu whom are unforgettable in the history of modern Japanese painting, namely Aoki Shigeru, Sakamoto Hanjiro, and Koga Harue, all from Kurume City.
The annex displays calligraphy and pottery to coincide with the season and theme.
