The Western Japan Ohori Fireworks Display the most well-known in Fukuoka, attracting over 450 thousand people every year.
After the initial display that took place in 1950, the massive annual display was briefly abandoned; however, it was revived by popular demand in 1979 and has continued ever since!
The Ohori Fireworks Display is Kyushu’s largest urban display, with about 6,000 fireworks being let off in the middle of the broad park (making them visible from many places in the city due to the lack of high buildings)!
