Shikanoshima Island

Visitors Guide

Shikanoshima Island is connected by land to Fukuoka. Now a national treasure, the Gold Seal that Chinese Emperor Guangwu presented to a local monarch in the Yayoi Era (400BC - 250AD) was found in this scenic spot, which also appears in the Manyoshu (the oldest collection of Japanese poetry)!
Visitors may enjoy taking a drive while travelling around to see the Mokozuka Monument, Kinin (Gold Seal) Park, and the island's other historic spots via Umi no Nakamichi. Shikanoshima is also famous as a base for leisure activities like swimming, fishing, scuba diving, motocross, and more! This is truly a spot for visitors to enjoy nature to the fullest!
